Cookies and Other Tracking Technology
We use “cookies” (small data files stored on your computer) and other tracking technologies to collect information about your visit to our Site. The cookies and tracking technologies we use do not capture PII. The information that is captured about your visit may be used in a variety of ways across multiple devices, such as to monitor and maintain information about your visits to our Site, to help us identify and address problems with and to improve our Site, to analyze web traffic trends, and to help protect the security and integrity of our Site. If you do not accept cookies however, you will not experience a personalized visit nor will you be able to subscribe to the service offerings on the Site.
We may also use pixel tags (also known as “clear gifs,” “web beacons,” or “1-by-1 gifs”). If you have any questions about an ad or other targeted content, you should contact the responsible provider directly. Some of these third parties may provide you with ways to choose not to have your information collected or used for targeted advertising. For example, some of these companies may be members of the Network Advertising Initiative (“NAI”) or the Digital Advertising Alliance (“DAA”), which provide a single location where you can opt out of certain types of data collection and use or out of receiving targeted ads from member companies. To opt out, visit www.networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp.

“Do-Not-Track.” Do-Not-Track is a public-private initiative that has developed a technical “flag” or signal that an end-user may be able to activate within their browser software to notify websites that they do not wish to be “tracked” by third parties as defined by the initiative. The initiative, however, has not reached a consensus as to exactly what technical or other actions those parties receiving the signal should take. As a result, Do-Not-Track has not yet been standardized and most websites, including AMWEST, do not alter their behavior or change their services when they receive a “do-not-track” flag or signal.
You can, however, make decisions about your privacy and the ads you receive. As explained in the section above, “Sharing With Corporate Entities and third parties,” AMWEST uses online behavioral advertising. You can control whether companies use your Personal Information to serve you behaviorally-based advertising by visiting the DAA web page and using the DAA’s opt-out: http://www.aboutads.info/choices/. The DAA opt-out requires that cookies not be blocked in your browser.
As an alternative to the DAA opt-out, you can also elect to block all cookies from first-parties (such as AMWEST) and from third parties (such as entities involved in advertising) by using the cookie blocking options built into your browser software. For example, in Internet Explorer 9, you can block both first and third party cookies by selecting those options at Tools/Internet Options/Privacy/Settings-Advanced/Override Automatic Cookie Handling. As another example, if you are using Firefox 25, you can “uncheck” Accept All Cookies under Firefox Preferences/Privacy-Use Custom Settings For History/Accept Cookies from Sites.
Please note, however, that if you do decide to block cookies, some parts of our website may not function correctly.
Nevada Privacy Rights
Nevada law (NRS 603A) requires website operators to provide a way for Nevada consumers to opt out of the sale of certain information that the website operator may collect about them. AMWEST does not sell your personal information to third parties as defined in Nevada law and will not do so in the future without providing you with notice and an opportunity to opt-out of such sale as required by law. If you have any questions regarding our data privacy practices or our compliance with Nevada Data Privacy law, please contact us by any manner in the Contact Information section.
